The Sword

By I.M. Ulysses

Arise my sword and answer
The die has now been cast
The vileness of the world
Did break my heart at last

In anger will I wield you
Till justice I achieve
With righteousness and mercy
My children to redeem

In iron were you fashioned
Through fire were you forged
And though it wasn't easy
In my Way you endured

Be ready now for battle
My wrath to be discerned
Against the ones who slander
My Son and Holy Word

Strike down with all your power
And cleave from head to foot
The children of the devil
Who have my will withstood

For I made you my weapon
Elect from ancient time
To rid the world of vileness
And prepare the way divine

Cease not until it's finished
Till every weal and woe
Is met upon the wicked
Who harm my children so

They thought I wasn't watching
That this hour wouldn't come
But soon they'll be rewarded
For all the things they've done

Their sins will be remembered
And their souls will be cast
Into the pit of darkness
When God His trumpet blasts

Great armies now in Heaven
Await the Lord's command
To liberate His people
From Satan's vicious hand

Flee not into the mountains
Do not bury your dead
The time of grace is over
The Lamb of God has said

He comes in clouds of thunder
In Glory's light arrayed
To give mankind His Kingdom
And save those who're dismayed

Upon the Throne of David
He'll reign as Lord and King
Our living Saviour, Jesus
To whom the angels sing

And when it is accomplished
His sword He will set down
No more will it be needed
When Our Lord wears the crown

But 'til that day arriveth
The work it will go on
So come ye to the Saviour
Who's God's own risen Son.
