No Words

I woke up this morning
With no words to say
As I thought of the meaning
Of this April day
I could not believe
That five years had passed
When she said those words
That are meant to last
How far we had come
From that moment in time
While angels were watching
The Lord's will unwind
He'd kept it hidden
Through all of those years
While I battled my demons
And shed many tears
Then she said yes
And my life was set right
The darkness had fled
In the afternoon light
As I boarded the plane
I thought "it's begun"
The first step of faith
Towards our union
But more was required
Of that I was sure
So I prayed to the Lord
For the strength to endure
Tested and tried
My burdens He'd born
Throughout all the years
When my heart was forlorn
And then came the moment
For my heart to speak
Upon this low hill
Where the Lord I would meet
Twas on this small spot
God chose to make right
The long years of sadness
Of Exile and flight
In faith and in love
We made our vows known
Before God in Heaven
In place I had grown
He'd broken the chains
And set free our hearts
And gave our two lives
A brand new fresh start
From there to the altar
The journey was made
And after five years
We returned once again
My bride and her man
To that holy place
Where we pledged our love
And were met by God's grace
Here we now stand
In love as before
Marveling at God
Who brought us this far
How He had made right
Two lives lived alone
And put them together
When His will was done
What can I say, then
That I haven't before
About The Lord's grace
And the one I adore
I'm but a servant
One born of the Spirit
And I go where I'm led
By Lord who does will it
For one score and eight
He let my years pass
In a land to the west
Till the a new life was cast
In it we plunged
Mary and I
Trusting in God
In whom we abide
In love we began
And in love we remain
Relying on Him
Whose power sustains
This is our story
Which began on that day
With a pledge and a vow
On Easter Sunday
And as we look back
On that fateful hour
We give thanks to God
For His grace and power.
