It's what I do
By I.M. Ulysses
It’s what I do
When I am near
Because you're alone
And full of fear
To make things right
When the light goes out
To keep things bright
When you can’t get up
As you struggle to reach
Your coffee cup
It’s what I do
When the road is longAnd you make a turn
That turns out wrong
It’s what I do
When our place’s a messBefore friends visit
And you're too stressed
It’s what I do
In the parking lotWhen it’s hard to find
A very good spot
It’s what I do
When you feel buriedBy all life's cares
That make you worried
It’s what I do
When you’re sick in bedAnd you can’t sleep
Until you are fed
It’s what I do
When you hear a clatterAnd need to find out
Just what's the matter
It’s what I do
When life is toughAnd all seems hopeless
And the going is rough
It’s what I do
When I’m up at 1Writing a poem
Until it is done
Down on my knees
To God above
I ask for strengthTo God above
And trust His love
So next time you ask
Just where it comes fromThis power I have
That allows me to run
Just look to the sky
You'll know it’s from HimOur Lord and our Saviour
Who my battles, win
His love and mercy
Still guide my way throughI’m nothing special
It’s just what I do.
For my wife, Marion.
(yeah, I know, up late again, but...it's what I do (;->) )
