Morning, Again

By I.M. Ulysses

Morning again
And I am alone
Pondering what
I could have done

You came once again
My dark enemy
And stole from this world
A dear friend to me

Why did you do this
What cause can explain
That has let you loose
On my family again

Must you surround me
And take lives away
Of those that I love
And who wish to stay

Who's next on your list
Whose time will come round
When I am not looking
And you come around

You've taken my friend
Our beloved Beverley
Then you took Grace
A Christian lady

Now it is Jim
That you've hunted down
And buried beneath
A new graveyard mound

Maybe it's time
You took some time off
For I'm growing angry
At all that I've lost

Unto my great Father
I commit all my tears
Which He has collected
Throughout all these years

One day He'll return
And pour them all round
And the graves they were shed on
New life will abound

Freed from the darkness
His victory complete
He'll raise from the dead
Those now in defeat

They'll rise like the dawn
Their arms open wide
To embrace once again
A life undenied

That day is coming
On this bet your soul
When death will have ended
And our hearts are whole

But until that moment
I will carry on
Calling on Jesus
Till His battle's won

And when it is finished
I'll go to His throne
And worship my Saviour
On that great new morn.

For my Cousin Jim Kokkoris,
You are missed, loved and remembered, always.
Rest in Peace.
