God's way

God’s Way
By I.M. Ulysses

What is man
That he should feel
A solemn touch
Of God who’s real

For he was born
To take a stand
And not bow down
At fools' command

To let hope rise
Within his breast
And rend his heart
His soul to test

For life does not
Come with restraint
For those who strive
While others faint

It must be grasped
With faith and power
That comes from God
In their dark hour

Such it is
For all mankind
Who seek a path
That’s not defined

Not to their own
Do they consult
But unto Whom
Angels exalt

To Him they come
Both great and small
From tribe and tongue
And before Him fall

So who is man
That he should boast
Of what he does
And all his host

The road’s not his
Nor is his course
It’s set by God
Who is the source

All this I know
And have been taught
That if God reigns
I cannot

Frank once said
It was my way
Living his life
As he would say

But that’s not true
Nor can it be
For God did not
Man's will make free

Our path was set
Before our time
To serve a purpose
The Lord defined

He made us
That we should learn
The path to life
That we can't earn

So I’m at pains
To speak my mind
And share this truth
To me confined

Man is nothing
Dust in the wind
Fit for death
Because of sin

But when all seemed lost
And death held sway
Christ came down
And did it God’s way.

It's what I do

By I.M. Ulysses

It’s what I do
When I am near
Because you're alone
And full of fear

It’s what I do
To make things right
When the light goes out
To keep things bright

It’s what I do
When you can’t get up
As you struggle to reach
Your coffee cup

It’s what I do
When the road is long
And you make a turn
That turns out wrong

It’s what I do
When our place’s a mess
Before friends visit
And you're too stressed

It’s what I do
In the parking lot
When it’s hard to find
A very good spot

It’s what I do
When you feel buried
By all life's cares
That make you worried

It’s what I do
When you’re sick in bed
And you can’t sleep
Until you are fed

It’s what I do
When you hear a clatter
And need to find out
Just what's the matter

It’s what I do
When life is tough
And all seems hopeless
And the going is rough

It’s what I do
When I’m up at 1
Writing a poem
Until it is done

Down on my knees
To God above
I ask for strength
And trust His love

So next time you ask
Just where it comes from
This power I have
That allows me to run

Just look to the sky
You'll know it’s from Him
Our Lord and our Saviour
Who my battles, win

His love and mercy
Still guide my way through
I’m nothing special
It’s just what I do.

For my wife, Marion.
(yeah, I know, up late again, but...
it's what I do (;->) )

Sit Down, Sit Down For Jesus.

By I.M. Ulysses

Sit down, sit down for Jesus,  The Lord will not be mocked
Bow all your heads in shame, Ye false Christians are lost
Stop with your great pretensions, His Words you have betrayed
And if you will not repent,  His wrath will not be stayed
Sit down, sit down for Jesus,  Defeat is in your grasp
You've compromised sound doctrine, The die has now been cast
For over two millennia, The Bible was revered
But now it has been trampled, It's message has been smeared

Sit down, sit down for Jesus,  A coward's fate awaits
For all who have denied Him, There'll be no Pearly Gates
False teachers and bad preaching, And all who they deceive
Politically correct tools, These men He won't receive
Stand up, Stand up for Jesus, Quit bowing to the world
Return unto the Saviour,  His banner  to unfurl
For all who seek his mercy, Salvation can be found
But all the craven cowards,  To hell they will be bound

Dedicated to those who compromised, modified, or exchanged sound doctrine for a lie. Many were one-time sound Christians, who bowed to the world and to political correctness, because they were too cowardly to stand up for Jesus and the Word of God. May they acknowledge their sin, repent, and be saved, before it's  too late.

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." - Revelations 21:8
